A renovation to a small worker's cottage defined by bold curves, colours and a timber heavy material palette.
The extensive use of natural materials provided us with the opportunity to recycle the hardwood framework salvaged from the demolition. Re-milling it for handrails, door frames, handles, shelves and furniture. New timber windows and operable skylights flood the new spaces with light which brings the hoop pine wall paneling to life. The exposed steel structure down the hall ties the old with the new and frames the original brickwork.
